The various locomotive faults are:
1. Contact trouble,
2. Load trouble.
3. Wheel Slip problem.
4. Speed problem.
5.Overload problem.
6.Excitation problem.
7. Ground fault of ground tripping.
8.Charging problem.
9. One side movement problem.
10. Air pressure problem.
11. Starting contact stick problem.
12. Not taking start problem.
13. Battery pole burnt problem.
14. Battery cell dead problem.
15. Battery sulphation problem.
etc. etc.
All the above problems or troubles are of electrical type. As I have already said that I will explain only electrical problem and its solution.
